 The Power of Consistency for Fitness

You hear it everywhere, and it's true: Consistency is the most powerful factor to success in your Fitness Journey. Heck, it's the most powerful factor for anything that you're trying to achieve. Showing up, following your program, doing what works, and pushing yourself to your limit is going to make you a powerful individual.

The Real Secret

Truth is there's a certain Zen to following a plan that ticks off most of the marks. 

Are markers of a Flow-State that, paired with Patience, will lead you on a Journey of Self-Improvement. Your goals will be crushed and you're going to resonate greatly along the way.

The Comparison Problem

But unfortunately, it's easy to lose sight of that when you're Consistently bombarded with physiques to compare yourself to, information that might not apply to you, or exercises that look cool but don't work for you (or at all). The worst part is that you constantly carry this burden around with you through the screen known as your phone. It's a serious Motivational Killer and Consistency Limiter. We know that most people on Social Media are likely playing a role, lacking authenticity. Yet our mind falters, you drift to inaction despite wanting something better. Then you fail. 

It's unfair to you to let yourself feel this way, especially because of a façade on a screen.

I'm only human, and I've also been in this trap. Truth is that it hurts being in that place and it's emotionally devastating. Another truth, it's hard to get out of that loop, but Simple to unshackle from it. Life thrives on Paradox and your relationship to them. How can something hard to get out be simple to rid yourself of. It's your own journey to look internally to find the solution to this, but I'll say that reducing Overthinking is what will spark something in you. You'll: 

  • Stop being stuck in inaction 
  • Start implementing habits that have Power over what you see on the screen
  • Become more confident in the abilities you know you posses
  • Stop doubting yourself
Overthinking will keep you stuck, Action will help you Progress!

How this will Apply to your Gym Life

Progress
There's something in you that tells you to go to the gym, and there's something in you that tells you to give up or hold of for another day. One of them doesn't need motivation, and the other let's his thoughts win. Who you choose to listen to is going to be the one that wins for the day and who you will feed and enable. One of them knows what to do and how to get better, the other one is often at a total loss. 

Feed the one that you want to be, show up in the facets that makes the individual successful, which for  healthy life is to Train Hard, Eat Well, Sleep Plenty. No doubting your program, letting your gluttony win, or slacking on your recovery through sleep. Be consistent with the person you want to be, someone the kid you could look up to.


Final Thoughts

Consistency isn’t magic, it’s a decision you make today and repeat tomorrow.
